Let’s Talk About Plate Carrier Cummerbund
The term plate carrier cumberbund may initially bring to mind black-tie attire; however, its history dates all the way back to the Persian Empire. The kamarband was a sash of fabric that men wrapped around their waist for carrying tools and other items – now known as plate carrier cummerbunds. This tradition of tool storage has been preserved in military dress throughout time, making it a timeless staple in any soldier’s wardrobe.
Why Do You Need to Wear a Plate Carrier Cumberbund?
While it’s not a necessity, there are multiple advantages to donning a plate carrier cumberbund.
– Comfort: A customizable cummerbund allows you to easily adjust it so that it fits perfectly every time.
– Stability: The cummerbund offers a secure and stable fit that prevents your carrier from sliding during movement.
– Storage: Even though it looks different, the modern-day plate carrier cumberbund serves a similar purpose to its ancient predecessor – kamarbands. With this, you’ll have speedy and easy access to your tools like never before!

And if down the line you decide that you no longer need to use those pesky buckles– go ahead and remove them! It’s as simple as can be.
Step-By-Step Instructions To Adjust Your Plate Carrier Cumberbund
No matter the cummerbund you have, achieving a perfect fit is as easy as following these simple steps:
– Firmly press the shock cord stopper, which is a black plastic cord lock/fastener on your shock cord drawstring.
– Ease up the tension of the shock cord. Give yourself some extra room to make modifications as necessary.
– To ensure you have a perfect fit, adjust the plate carrier cumberbund to your size. If needed, remove the shock cord for smaller frames or replace it with a longer paracord for sizes larger than XXXL. You can also weave through sections of molle webbing within the carrier itself if necessary.
– Firmly grasp and press the shock cord stopper downwards.
– Cinch the shock cord to your ideal size and test it out – it should be snug, but still comfortable. Once you’re happy with its fit, we recommend knotting any extra slack about an inch below the stopper for safety reasons. This will come in handy if your plate carrier cumberbund ever gets stuck on a doorway or vehicle so that it doesn’t completely unravel. Double-check everything is secure before moving on to the next step!
– To ensure the cummerbund passes through your sleeve with ease, fold it in half along its length. To prevent any sticking while not wearing, be sure to place the loop-covered side on itself. This will avoid contact with the attached Velcro® pocket that holds onto the rear of your plate carrier cumberbund when you take it off.
– Thread the cummerbund through the sleeve, ceasing when the shock cord component of it is in sync with the middle section of its pass-through design.
– Slip the cummerbund through the sleeve until you have reached a point where both sides of the shock cord are precisely centered in relation to the pass-through design.
– For your plate carrier, expand the kangaroo pouch wide open to ensure that the Velcro® on the admin pocket doesn’t catch onto anything during this step.
– For a neat and even fit, slide your cummerbund flap into the carrier’s kangaroo pocket. To assist with this process, try placing a plastic bag in the pouch before maneuvering half of the plate carrier cumberbund flap until everything is aligned properly. When you’re finished adjusting, simply pull out the plastic bag so that both sides are securely attached to their respective pockets!
– To secure the cummerbund, attach its left and right halves to a central Velcro® piece in front. Make sure the two sides either meet or overlap each other before attaching them under the flap of material.
– Take the plate carrier cumberbund flaps from the kangaroo pocket and fold them over both of your cummerbund halves. Apply pressure to make sure everything is held firmly in place.
While the side buckles are not necessary once your cummerbund is installed, you may find it more comfortable to remove them for added convenience. Don’t worry – you won’t need these buckles in place anymore!
